IRA ROLLOVER GIFT
Your gifts make a difference and your generosity will enable us to continue our important work. A gift with an IRA charitable rollover is an excellent plan. It helps you achieve your personal and philanthropic goals and build a legacy for the future.
- IRA Required Minimum Distribution: You must withdraw part of your IRA each year after the age of 70-1/2.
- Another IRA Option: The law allows IRA owners over age 70-1/2 to give up to $100,000 to a qualified charity each year.
- How to Give an IRA: If you are 70-1/2 or older, you can direct your IRA administrator to distribute an IRA gift to United Way of Anchorage.

Life Insurance
It is easy to name United Way of Anchorage as the beneficiary of your life insurance policy. Your insurance agent has a simple form for you to sign. As the donor, you receive an immediate income tax deduction when you name United Way of Anchorage as the beneficiary and owner of the policy.
Retirement Plans
The remaining balance (or a percentage of the balance) of your IRA, 401(k), Keogh, etc. retirement plan can be designated to United Way of Anchorage, and 100% of the gift amount is exempt from taxes.
Charitable Remainder Trusts
CRTs allow the donor to retain income – or actually provides an income for someone else (beneficiary) – for a specific period of time (such as the death of the spouse/beneficiary). The annual payments can be either a fixed dollar amount or a set percentage of the value. When the term of the trust ends, the balance of the trust becomes property of United Way of Anchorage.
Charitable Lead Trusts
Charitable Lead Trusts allow the donor to place assets into a trust for a specific period of time. At the end of the term, the remaining trust assets are distributed to you or your beneficiaries.
Charitable Gift Annuity
A Charitable Gift Annuity is a contract between you and United Way of Anchorage. The donor makes a gift to United Way and, in return, the donor (or other beneficiary) receives a fixed annuity income for life.
