We’re keeping people housed.
By keeping tenants housed, we prevent costly, time-consuming eviction processes. Our assistance with the Alaska Court System’s Eviction Diversion Program wards off homelessness. Then, our community members avoid permanent and traumatic barriers to opportunity.
Paying past-due rents
Sometimes tenants miss their rental payments due to lost jobs, unexpected expenses or sudden illnesses. When landlords agree to mediation during eviction proceedings, the court contacts us. We can make one-time payments to the landlords to cover past-due rents.
Achieving housing stability
We make these payments when tenants can afford their rents, moving forward. By assisting them and their landlords, we help prevent homelessness. People can remain employed and strengthen their social connections. Kids can thrive in school. Our community benefits.
