We’re warmING UP HOMES AND HEARTS IN our community.
Financial insecurity often builds over time. Bills add up. Costs increase. Unexpected expenses appear. Emergencies occur. When ongoing hardships are combined, Alaskans’ heating service may be jeopardized. Turn up the heat on cold homes by supporting Walk for Warmth.
Fundraising goal
Alaskans have donated $7,660 as of Feb. 15, exceeding our $5,000 goal. This amount combined with $10,000 from ENSTAR Natural Gas Company, $5,000 from First National Bank Alaska and $5,000 from Global Credit Union can cover one-month’s heating bill for many homes.
Impact stories
Difficulties mount when heating services cease. Cold homes cause health problems. People edge toward more vulnerabilities. They may stop receiving other services, lose their jobs and experience homelessness. Walk for Warmth makes a difference in Alaskans’ lives.
IMPACT STORY
United Way Worldwide reaches tens of thousands of communities through United Ways. Walk for Warmth earned their attention. It demonstrates how we back and provide funding for local nonprofits that empower Alaskans to achieve financial security.
