United Way of Anchorage kicked off our 2023 Community Campaign! Yesterday, 43 organizations celebrated our 67th year of convening support for nonprofits. As this season of giving unfolds, even more organizations will get involved. Our supporters include businesses, nonprofits, and other groups who join us to address our community’s toughest challenges…
LIVE UNITED, AMPLIFY IMPACT!
When workplaces participate in United Way’s Community Campaign, they empower their employees to help create positive change in our community. We serve as a community convener. United Way always relies on collaboration and partnership with others to create action and make an impact in Anchorage. Please join our Community Campaign this fall.
We are organized to respond nimbly to evolving challenges and immediate crises, which is why organizations and people, like you, offer United Way their support year after year. Anchorage residents know their donations allow our local leaders, funded partners and other nonprofits to collaborate. Working together, we address complex issues in our community—making life better today and building a stronger tomorrow.
United Way focuses our efforts on three areas:
EDUCATION. FINANCIAL STABILITY. HEALTH.
Plus, we have many ways that we address these needs. United Way:
- Partners with organizations.
- Connects people with at-large community services.
- Engages businesses, policymakers, local leaders and residents.
- Funds social service nonprofits.
- Collect and share data about our community’s needs.

With 104 people in attendance at the Alaska Native Heritage Center, the room buzzed with excitement as people chatted in groups and music played over the sound system. Three speakers joined United Way’s President and CEO Clark Halverson to welcome and enthuse attendees, including the Treasurer of our Board of Directors Beth Stuart, Anchorage School District Superintendent Dr. Jharrett Bryantt, and President of ENSTAR John Sims.
“United Way is an excellent example of ‘amplifying impact,’” Dr. Bryantt said while speaking at our event. “They are certainly amplifying the Anchorage School District’s impact when it comes to our vision that we have for our schools.”
Day in and day out, for almost 70 years, we’ve put in the hard work to improve our organization, our community and our neighbors’ lives. United Way has developed, led and supported programs and initiatives to meet Anchorage’s most pressing needs. Learn more.
We help workplaces that host a Community Campaign make it easy for their employees to get involved. You can designate part of your salary to the community-focused causes and social service nonprofits that you support. With your help, our efforts will continue building a better, stronger Anchorage. Your gifts help us reach higher to address challenges that impact us all. When you support us, you show your commitment to lifting up everyone in our community.
“United Way understands the unique challenges we have as a community and what we can do to solve those problems,” said Sims while addressing attendees. He chairs our 2023 Workplace Community Campaign Cabinet.
Although United Way has been part of our community for decades, we still seek insights from our diverse, loyal cohort before recommending solutions. Together, we amplify impact. You empower us to mobilize resources swiftly and address needs purposefully.
We have counted—and will always depend—on meaningful relationships. United Way needs you to help us reach higher and bring up everyone. Find out how you can get involved today.
